My name is Dulce.
I live in Birmingham. Before settling in this beautiful place in Midlands, that is soon to become Britain’s first majority minority city (where white people are a minority), I lived in Finland, the periphery of the world. Somehow, however through all those forests and all that ice, a few Cuban genes managed to land in about twenty-five years ago, and made me, arguably the first of the Finnish-Cuban species. I wasn’t confused about my identity until I got confused about everyone else being confused about it. So now when I’m asked where I’m from, I answer something philosophical.
